Sinagot ng kampo ni vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte ang mga pambabatikos na natanggap ng alkalde mula sa kapwa niya kandidato sa pagkabise na si dating Akbayan party-list Rep. Walden Bello.
Matatandaan na tinawag na ‘coward’ ni Bello si Duterte matapos hindi dumalo ang alkalde sa CNN debate nitong Pebrero 26.
Sa kanyang pahayag, sinabi ng spokesperson ni Duterte na si Liloan Mayor Cristina Garcia-Frasco na nagdesisyon na ang alkalde na personal na makipag usap sa mga botante imbis na idaan ito sa social media at tweets katulad ni Bello.
“Sabi ni Walden Bello, duwag daw si Mayor Sara. Pero sino sa kanila ang nagtatago sa mga tao ngayong kampanya?” banat ni Garcia-Frasco.
“Far from the convenience of preaching platitudes from the pulpit, Mayor Sara has visited 70 cities, towns, islands, provinces, in less than 2 months, speaking directly to the people, listening to their problems, bringing aid where needed most, proving herself an accountable, transparent, and dependable national figure as early as now.” dagdag niya pa.
Ibinida pa ni Garcia-Frasco ang mga nagawa ni Duterte bago nito iwan ang Davao City.
“When Mayor Sara steps down as Mayor on June 30, she will have left Davao City debt-free, the 4th Most Competitive City in the Philippines, and the 7th richest City in the country. In less than 5 years since her assumption as Mayor in 2016, Davao City has received no less than 118 awards, citations, and recognitions. In 2020, Davao City was awarded the Best City Police Office in the Philippines. Most recently, the DSWD awarded Davao the 2021 Gawad Paglilingkod sa Sambayanan (GAPAS) Award naming it the Best LGU implementing the Daycare Service.” pahayag ng tagapagsalita.

Samantala ay patuloy paring tikom ang bibig ni Duterte kung bakit hindi siya dumadalo sa debate katulad ng katandem niya na si presidential candidate at dating Senador Bongbong Marcos.
Kahit naman na hindi sila dumadalo sa mga debate ay patuloy parin na mataas ang kanilang natatanggap ng rating sa mga surveys.
