Usap usapan ngayon sa social media ang pagbababa ng age of criminal liability dahil sa nangyari sa magkapatid na Maguad sa North Cotabato.
Dahil dito ay kahit ang palitan ng ideya sa pagitan ni Anne Curtis at Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte ang kumalat muli sa social media.
Nitong 2019 ay ibinahagi ni Anne na UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadress ang kanyang pananaw tungkol sa pagbababa ng criminal age liability na isinusulong noon sa kongreso.
Ayon kasi kay Anne ay maari pang magbago ang mga kabataan na gumawa ng mga krimen.
“I stand with them for NOT lowering the criminal age of responsibility but instead supporting the full implementation of the current law of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act. I understand that there are those who see differently but if you could only try and discern that they are STILL CHILDREN, are victims of their circumstance and are still young enough to change their ways.” sabi ni Anne.
Pinalagan naman ito ni Inday Sara at sinabi na mababaw ang katwiran ng aktres sa kanyang pagtatangol sa mga kabataan na gumagawa ng masama.
"The Madame who said that lowering the age of criminal liability to 12 years old as immoral, unscientific and ineffective is clearly out of touch with reality. This person has not regularly read police reports, have not talked to social welfare workers or has worked on grassroots issues. This Madame and her like minded friends compare other well developed countries to the Philippines as if the culture, the psyche, the circumstances are the same.” ani Inday Sara.
"What I would give to lock you in a room for one night with a 13 year old Sukarap qang member, para makatilaw ka. Eto pa, hindi sila criminal, they are children in conflict with the law. Eh dba its the same banana? Ladies and gentlemen, children are capable of commiting crimes. Put that in your head. Wag na sana kayo mag pretend na anghel ang mga bata, wala po tayo sa langit.” dagdag niya pa.
Hindi naman nagbigay ng tugon si Anne sa patama sa kanya ng alkalde.
