Hindi napigilan ni ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo’ lead cast na si Gab Pangilinan ang ginawang pag-appoint sa mga bagong commissioners ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
Tanong ni Pangilinan bakit daw sa gitna ng campaign period nagpalit ng matataas na opisyal ang COMELEC.

Binanatan pa nito ang mga kandidato ng UniTeam.

Si Gab ay pamangkin ni vice presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan.
Ayon naman sa ilang netizens ay legal naman ang ginawa ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pag-appoint ng mga bagong commissioner.
“1987 Constitution Art 7, Sec 15. Two months immediately before the next presidential elections and up to the end of his term, the President shall not make appointments,” sabi ni netizen @brenster_23.
“unfortunately, he’s still constitutionally allowed to make this appointment. But I agree, this is a huge red flag! we have to be vigilant esp during and after the election day. sigh.” dagdag pa nito
Sinabi rin ng isa pang netizen na kailangang mapalitan ang mga commissioner na nagretiro nitong Pebrero kasama na si Rowena Guanzon.
“There are 3 commissioners who retired last February 2022, so the Commission needs replacement to fill up those vacant position. CHANGE is too far different from FILL UP.” paliwanag ni @ethzzs.
Ngunit hindi parin maiwasan magduda ng mga netizens lalo na’t isa sa mga bagong talagang commissioner ay naging abogado ng isa sa mga kasalukuyang kandidato.

“Understood. I think the point here really is the appointment of George Garcia as new Comelec Commissioner. He’s the former lawyer of BBM who is running for President. No conflict of interest there? Is this just coincidence, I don’t think so.” tanong muli ni @brenster_23.
Ngunit may isa pang netizen ang nagsabi na madami pang mga kilalang personalidad ang naging kliyente ni Garcia.
“He is the former Lawyer of Pnoy, Grace Poe and FPJ as well if he is qualified why not,” saad ni @joabiysh
Maliban kay Garcia ay na-appoint din bilang commissioner si Aimee Neri.
Si Saidamin Pangarungan naman ang itinalagang ad-interim chairman ng Comelec.
